TRAVERS CITY, MI -- The Traverse City Beach Bums(9-10) couldn't overcome a wild night on the mound as they walked 15 Joliet Slammers(8-11) on their way to a 12-6 loss.

In the second inning, Cody Clark hit an RBI single to give Joliet an early lead. They pulled away in the fourth on a sacrifice fly by Clark, an RBI single by London Lindley, and three consecutive bases-loaded walks issue by Beach Bums pitchers. In the bottoms of the inning, Will Kengor led off with a single then scored on an error. Luke Lowery followed by scoring on a wild pitch to make it a 6-2 game. Isaac Benard drove in Jake Simpson, who led off the fifth with a single. Then, in the sixth, Steve Lohr singled to start the inning, then scored when Kenny Peoples-Walls grounded out, pulling the Bums within two.

Joliet pulled away again in the top of the eight, as two runs scored on wild pitches, another bases-loaded walk was issued, and Ridge Hoopii-Haslam notched an RBI single, giving the Slammers a 10-4 advantage. With two outs in the bottom of the inning, Donald Glover Jr. Hit an RBI double, then, with the bases loaded, Jake Simpson was hit by a pitch. Joliet added two more runs in the ninth to secure the win.

Duke von Schamann earned the win for Joliet hurling six innings, allowing just two earned runs on seven hits, to improve to 2-1. Seth Brenner suffered the loss to drop to 1-1. He walked seven in three and two-thirds innings, allowing five earned runs on five hits. Sam Burton relieved Brenner and went three and one-third in an attempt to keep Traverse City in the game, allowing just a hit and two walks while fanning four.
