TRAVERSE CITY, MI -- In the first game of a six-game homestand, the Traverse City Beach Bums(10-14) came home in style with a 3-2 win over the Windy City Thunderbolts(9-14).

After a scoreless first inning, Windy City took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second with an RBI single by Ransom LaLonde. The Beach Bums tied the game in the third thanks to four straight walks issued to Kenny Peoples-Walls, Max Dutto, Arby Fields, and Isaac Benard. Larry Balkwill led off the fourth for the Bolts with a solo homer to regain the lead at 2-1. It was his third of the season.

In the bottom of the fifth, with one away, Benard smashed a double into left field then moved to second on a groundout. Luke Lowery followed by ripping his own double into right, scoring Benard and tying the game at two. Steve Lohr continued with an RBI single up the middle, giving Traverse City the lead. Windy City threatened to score in the eighth and ninth but they were shut down to preserve the win, ending a season-long six game losing streak by the Beach Bums.

Jordan Desguin earned the win for Traverse City with a five inning effort, allowing two runs on five hits and a walk, while fanning seven. He improves to 3-0. Jake Roehn suffered the loss in giving up two runs on three hits and two walks for his first decision of the season.
