TRAVERSE CITY, MI- Today, the Frontier League announced that Traverse City Beach Bums infielder, Steve Lohr has been named the player of the week. 

This past week, Lohr had a .526 batting average, going 10 for 19 with a home run, three doubles, four runs batted in, and six runs scored. With that performance, he’s climbed to the top of the league’s batting list with a .413 average, and is first in on base percentage with a .518 mark.  

The Buena Park, CA, native spent the last two seasons in the Texas Rangers organization, and was a 20th round pick out of California Baptist University. He was also an all-star in the Australian Baseball League with the Adelaide Bite. He came into the season with a .302 all-time batting average. 

The Beach Bums take Memorial Day off before heading to Sprenger Stadium in Avon, OH, to start a three game series against the Lake Erie Crushers. First pitch for all three games will be at 6:35pm and Tom Willms will have the call, starting with the Budweiser pregame show, at 6:15pm. You can listen along from anywhere in the world at  

When the Beach Bums return to Traverse City on Friday, we will be celebrating National Donut Day at Wuerfel Park. Peach, Love, and Little Donuts will be providing their tasty tiny treats for purchase up on the concourse. They have over 70 different creations so you can try a classic like Cherry Cheesecake, or something unexpected like Dirt, which is loaded with Oreos and a gummy worm.
