TRAVERSE CITY, MI - Reinaldo Lopez cruised to a complete game shutout as the Traverse City Beach Bums(11-15) defeated the Windy City Thunderbolts(10-15) by a final score of 3-0. 

With one out in the first, Isaac Benard walked then came in to score when Will Kengor doubled to center, giving the Bums a 1-0 lead. Kengor would score himself on an RBI single by Steve Lohr to double the Traverse City advantage. The Beach Bums added an insurance run in the fifth when Benard singled and Kengor doubled again, this time into left field. Kengor capped off his performance this evening with his third double of the game in the seventh inning. He now leads the league with 15.  

Reinaldo Lopez, who had three complete games last season, earned his first of 2018 with tonight’s shutout effort. He spread out eight hits with no walks and struck out five to improve to 1-2. Paddy Ledet suffered the loss for Windy City, going six and 1/3 innings, allowing all three runs on nine hits and three walks. He falls to 2-2. With tonight’s win, the Beach Bums win the weekend set, two games to one. 

The Beach Bums will take the next couple of days off before returning on Wednesday for a doubleheader against the River City Rascals, to start off a three game series. First pitch for game one will be at 5:05pm and Tom Willms will have the call, starting with the Budweiser pregame show, at 4:45pm. It will be two seven-inning games.
