2017 -- The 2017 season will be Joseph Brown's first season with the Beach Bums after spending the 2016 season as the hitting coach for the Joplin Blasters.  2017 will also mark Brown's first season in the Frontier League after spending the previous four seasons as a coach in the American Association.

Brown began his professional coaching career as a player/coach with the San Angelo Colts of the United League. While serving as the hitting coach with the Colts, the team led the league in most offensive categories that season.

The following year Joseph took over as the hitting coach for the Laredo Lemurs before heading to Amarillo to split time serving as the bullpen coach and assistant pitching coach before taking over managerial duties in Oregon City.

In 2016, Brown returned to the American Association with the Joplin Blasters, once again as the hitting coach. 

Joseph has served as a coach and hitting instructor for the California Winter League since 2012, where Beach Bums manager Dan Rohn first met him.

In the off-season, Joseph lives lives Vancouver, Washington with his wife, Cecily and their children Elizabeth and Xavier.
