Starting his second season in Traverse City, in 2016, Ball was 4-3 with a 3.25 earned run average, coming exclusively out of the bullpen. Ball joined the Beach Bums following his senior season at Williams Woods University. “Ball has the bulldog mentality that I’m always looking for," said Jason Wuerfel. "He’s an undersized guy but he attacks hitters like he’s the biggest guy on the field. He throws from multiple arm angles and has a lot of deception. More than anything, he has a high baseball IQ and knows how to use what he has to get hitters out."
Previous Experience: Ball is the Owls career leader in ERA with a 2.21 mark during his two seasons at William Woods, helping lead the team to a pair of berths in the NAIA National Tournament and back-to-back school record 39-win seasons. In 2015, he went 8-4 with nine saves and a 2.31 ERA. He struck out 78 batters while walking just 22 and held opponents to a .205 average in 74.0 innings of work. His 35 appearances set a school record.
In 2014, the Hillsboro, Mo. native went 5-1 with 12 saves and a 2.11 ERA. For his career, he struck out 135 batters in 142.1 innings of work. He ranks second on the Owls all-time saves list with 21.
