Hey Beach Bums fans, it's Kevin Reese and I am excited for this up and coming season! If you aren't familiar with me, I am one of the returning starting pitchers from last year's squad. I have been working extremely hard this off-season and I can assure you my teammates are as well. After a long winter, I am itching to get back out on the diamond so I hope you all are ready for another action packed summer!

Living in Pennsylvania during the off-season always presents challenges, namely the weather. My desire to play this game has and always will be there for me. So when there is over a foot of snow on the ground, I must unfortunately take my workouts inside and watch tapes instead of actually playing. I have been fortunate enough to get into coaching at my high school, Blair Academy in Northern New Jersey, which has been a great experience. I coach football in the fall, and currently I am running a weight room class, and of course this spring I'll be coaching baseball. There is no better way to stay around the game and give back to young players who have dreams to play professional baseball like me.

Looking back at last season, though disappointing from a win/loss and playoff standpoint, I see so many positives. We played our hearts out night in and night out, we played our best ball at the end of the year, we jelled much better as a team, and most importantly all the fans stayed by our side and kept routing us on. The support from all of you last year is unprecedented and something that we never over look. Through all the ups and downs, your support remained consistent. You must understand, great fans make a great team. Thank you for all your love and support!

2010 is already shaping up to be a great year, are you ready? I know we all are! We have had numerous players picked up by affiliated clubs, so you know we have the right kind of ball players here. I have spoken with a few of the guys from last season's team and we are all ready to go. Everyone can't wait to take care of business and bring a championship home to Traverse City! With the chemistry between the fans, management, coaches and players we are bound for a championship playoff run because we all expect nothing less.

I have to say again that I'm truly excited for this upcoming season. I hope to see some familiar faces in the crowd again this year. Look forward for some more deep balls hit by Brian Lapin, runners thrown out by Andrew Franco and some strikeouts from Shawn Joy. God Bless and I will see you soon.
