Ziegler, C.J.

2010 Season Outlook
Ziegler is he a home run threat every time he comes to the plate, but he knows how to take a walk and doesn't strike out much, which is rare for a power hitter. He really solidifies the Beach Bums' lineup as a group that has a chance to score a lot of runs heading into the season.

Previous Experince
Ziegler is a 6'4" 225-pound slugger who was drafted in the 16th round of the 2008 MLB Draft out of the University of Arizona, where he tore up the competition to a tune of a .346 average, 40 doubles, 33 home runs, and 123 RBI in just two seasons. San Francisco immediately assigned Ziegler to the rookie level Gulf Coast Giants where he hit .262 with 17 doubles, seven home runs, and 43 RBI in just 53 games. In 2009, Ziegler's success had him bouncing through the Giants farm system from the short season-A Salem-Kaizer Volcanoes to the class low-A August GreenJackets, and finally landing with the class high-A San Jose Giants. He never stopped hitting along the way, putting together his best stretch in Salem-Kaizer where he hit a blistering .404 with seven doubles, two home runs, and 13 RBI in just 14 games. For his two-year professional career, Ziegler is a .268 hitter with a .357 on-base percentage and a .431 slugging percentage.
