Mueller began to rewrite the Beach Bums record books from the second he stepped on the mound at Wuerfel Park. The franchise leader in career games pitched and saves, the righthander will enter 2013 with three all-star appearances under his belt and is one save shy of becoming the third pitcher in Frontier League history with 50 in his career.
For his career in Traverse City, Mueller is 9-12 with a 2.47 ERA in 123 games. He has struck out 136 batters in 152.2 innings while allowing just 117 hits. He ranked fifth in the Frontier League in saves in 2010 and seventh in 2012 and was sixth in the circuit in appearances last season.
Mueller was signed by the Beach Bums after spending three seasons in the Orioles system following a 21st round selection by Baltimore in the 2007 MLB draft. In his time as a O’s farmhand, he went 4-5 in 71 games with nine saves and struck out 105 batters in 102 innings of work.
