Josh enters his eighth season with the Beach Bums. He is the involved in many facets of the organization --from and including IT, merchandise and program design during the off-season. He oversees all of the Beach Bums audio and video technology during the season.
Josh graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in Nuclear Engineering, while playing four years for the Wolverines as a placekicker on the football team. During his four years the Wolverines won four Big Ten Championships and played in three Rose Bowls and one Gator Bowl.
After college he worked in both commercial real estate and hotel development of the Sugar Beach Resort Hotel later buying full ownership of the Sugar Beach with his wife Tonya. The Wuerfels have started many successful ventures over the years while raising four children.
Josh lives in Leelanau County with Tonya, who graduated from Grand Valley State University with a degree in Biology and their four children; Alexandra, Cameron, Quinn and Anastasia. The entire family can be found most game nights helping whenever and wherever needed throughout the season. The kids love to join their grandma at the front gates and welcome fans into the park before the games.
